Staff Hype for Season 1

Post by Xenia »

Let us know what staff did right in Season 1! What did you love? What do you want more of in S2? What were some of your favorite moments with Storytellers?

First off, huge round of applause to staff.
The balance between role play and roll play was fantastic. The thought behind the custom mechanics was fluid and balanced. The non combat scenarios were my favorite in my history of Larping. The break from just throwing rock paper scissors to actually work on riddles or solve visual puzzles was super enjoyable. Naval combat mechanics were great, bringing the OG naval battle map back to modern wargames. 10/10 would sail again.

The main storyline with the navari and their unique interactions with the garou's pact with the olympians, chef's kiss. I have always wanted to see other garou factions in OWOD, and Ronin forging their own tribes and society with their natural spiritual abilities? Loved that. I look forward to seeing it from a less hostile perspective in season two.

The staff's efforts in consistently adjusting their prep to better handle how game was run to make things smoother was awesome (running out of adjectives here). As a player and once larp staffer, I appreciated seeing the rough edges smoothed over, the teamwork clearly at play, and the staff setting and maintaining their own boundaries during the process.

There are a million other things I'm forgetting. But the TLDR is- Good fucking job. Running a Larp well is not easy. You all succeeded.
