Major Positions
Septleader/Elder
- Other Terms: Zedakh, Alpha, Sept Elder
- Summary: Sept administration changes sept by sept, often a zedakh/alpha and his second, a council of elders, etc. Any who hold this authority gain the benefits, but there is always one Elder who holds Septleader.
- Responsibilities: All administrative decisions of the sept. Herding cats, making calls. Choosing moot positions.
- Chosen By: Challenge. A septleader may choose other Elders to aid them, or ask others prove themselves in challenge.
- Reports To: Sept Totem.
- Summary: In charge of the safety of the sept, with the ability to call for martial law and stand as a second in command to the Septleader in a time of war.
- Responsibilities: Defense of the sept, training of guardians, monitoring the sept, bolstering war resources.
- Chosen By: Challenge.
- Reports To: Septleader.
- Other Terms: Rite Master, Rite Mistress
- Summary: The chief shaman of the sept; expected to perform/teach rites and act as the sept's repository of spirit lore. All other spiritual positions are subordinate to this one.
- Responsibilities: Oversee all rites, instruct others in rites, serve as primary resource on all spiritual matters.
- Chosen By: Challenge.
- Reports To: Septleader.

- Summary: The primary arbiter over all challenges on the sept, as well as a diplomat to outsiders.
- Responsibilities: Oversee all challenges on sept to ensure fairness and honor. Resolving disputes and conflicts.
- Chosen By: Challenge.
- Reports To: Septleader.
- Summary: Both a groundskeeper and spiritual liaison, they ensure the wishes of the spirits are tended and the sept itself is well-maintained.
- Responsibilities: Tending the grounds, pleasing the spirits, attending the shrines, ensuring the sept is well stocked.

Minor Positions
Guardian
- Summary: Assistant to the Warder.
- Responsibilities: Patrolling the grounds, responding to threats.
- Chosen By: Warder.
- Reports To: Warder.
- Summary: Assistant to the Keeper of the Land.
- Responsibilities: Tending the grounds, pleasing the spirits, attending the shrines at the request of the Keeper of the Land.
- Chosen By: Keeper of the Land.
- Reports To: Keeper of the Land.
- Summary: Charged with maintaining the caern's moon bridges.
- Responsibilities: Maintain moon bridges, protect Pathstone. Expected to know Rite of the Opened Bridge and Rite of the Opened Caern.

- Reports To: Septleader.
- Other Terms: Den Mother, Den Father
- Summary: Teacher and defender of newly-changed garou and unchanged metis. Often a contact point for kinfolk as well.
- Responsibilities: Training and protecting cubs and metis offspring.
- Chosen By: Challenge.
- Reports To: Septleader.
- Summary: This kin serves as the go-between for kinfolk and sept leadership.
- Responsibilities: Bringing kin concerns to the Elders, acting as their voice in garou matters, tracking kin assets.

Moot Positions
Master of the Howl
- Summary: Loudest voice on sept: calls meetings to beginning/end, shares intel, and proverbial emcee of the moots.
- Moot Responsibilities: The Opening Howl. They also serve as the narrative transition between moot portions.
- Duties Outside of Moot: Essentially a herald: ensuring that everyone is up to speed on current affairs and information is shared.
- Chosen By: Septleader.
- Reports To: Septleader.
- Summary: Charged with knowing the rites and politics to summons spirits properly and follow their mystic signs.
- Moot Responsibilities: The Inner Sky. Summoning the totem and other spirits to moots. Expected to know Rite of Summoning.
- Duties Outside of Moot: The go-to for spirit summoning, and for tracking and addressing prophecies and mystic insight.
- Chosen By: Septleader.
- Reports To: Master of the Rite.
- Summary: Judge, jury, and punisher, they are charged with law & order on sept.
- Moot Responsibilities: Cracking the Bone. Meting out justice as needed. Punishing those who speak out of turn.
- Duties Outside of Moot: Investigating and punishing violations of the Litany.
- Chosen By: Septleader.
- Reports To: Septleader.
- Summary: Charged with keeping the tales flowing throughout the sept.
- Moot Responsibilities: Stories & Songs. Telling the opening tale and encouraging tales form others.
- Duties Outside of Moot: The go-to to find stories/lore that is needed; also expected to ensure tales are being sung.
- Chosen By: Septleader.
- Reports To: Septleader.
- Summary: The offensive counterpart to the Warder, they coordinate assaults off sept.
- Moot Responsibilities: The Revel. Leads the hunt and rallies the troops.
- Duties Outside of Moot: The leader of the Sept Offense as a counterpart to the Warder's Defense.
- Chosen By: Septleader.
- Reports To: Septleader/Warder.
- Summary: The Fool is the voice of criticism and correction who teases and taunts the hubris out of garou. It is dishonorable to acknowledge their words during a moot, which must be disproven not through word, but through action.
- Moot Responsibilities: Speak up at any time to deliver harsh truths or needed levity to challenge the tone of the moot.
- Duties Outside of Moot: Track who is in the process of ranking up and make sure any challenges that need contesting are contested.
